I cannot take HRT either due to my connective tissue disorder. Instead I drink soy milk with a chocolate flavored soy protein powder mixed in it morning and night. This has controlled my hot flashes and sweats. In my experience it did take a while to kick in before it started working for me. You might also add other soy foods to your diet such as tofu. There are many terrific tofu recipes...tofu takes on the flavors of whatever you cook it with....also....i like to snack on soy nuts which also come in flavors.
