connie
my husband was diagnosed too late on 1992 with cholitis and lost his total colon, in 97 got gangrene and had to have 70cm removed again with sepsis etc, and now 2001, he had had blood show up in his pouch and so went to the gastroguy and was put on pentasa,,16 pills a day, VIOLENT REACTION. hospitalised and then they gave him 2 pills again which again caused reaction, (105 fever and shaking) removing all drugs and following preventative maintenence (bland diet, no alcohol, thickening output with foods, rehydrating) he is fine and starting to get better. Doc has recently said, well if it is in the small intestine then it looks like it is crohn's- so they are going to try the injection drugs available that are very expensive and i want to know what they are and has anyone had reaction to it? i am wondering if since we are getting better if this is going to cause him to go backward? feel free to email me anytime on this crohn's subject, i have a backgrownd in nutrition. oh, hubby is now 54.
