I know exactly what you are going through, I have not been given the name of the condition which caises the pain. It started in Oct1997, I was refeered to a pain clinic where I had lots of tests. Basicially the vertebre are decaying and small amounts get worn away every day. I have been on numerous cocktails of pain killer drugs. At present I am on MST,tryptisol, sevredol and Pethidine if it gets so bad I can`t get out of bed. This often happens. The doctor said I needed an intrethecal morphine pump, I was on the waiting list 30 months, then I changed doctor last January. Since attending the new doctor he put me on different meds which work better, also he is taking me into hospital to inject a steroid/analgesic injection it will be done as a day case and I will be able to go home that night. I have been fighting this battle for 5years now but suddenly things are looking up. See a different doctor and get a second opinion there may be more options than you think. Keep fighting and question everything, I hope you find someone who can help.
