Do a ten session rolfing program, with a practitioner who can oversee a yoga practice. The Rolfing will straighten your entire body, relieving pressure on your spine, and the yoga will rebuild your body correctly for the long run. I have herniated L5-s1, after two epidurals and a year of PT I had increased referring pain in my left sciatic and left groin. It was driving me crazy, but a Rolfer set the process into motion. I now do yoga and have built muscles I didn't have before, and have learned why the referring pain went where it did, and have corrected my structure to make sure it does not come back. Good luck.
