I had surgery to replace my C5 - C6 disc about four weeks ago now. I have no more pain there! It is amazing! However, I know that the lumbar is a different surgery in regards to replacement. I did meet a lady at my doctors office who had a procedure done that was almost inevasive. I cannot remember what it is called but they go in and inject something into the nerves. It is a new procedure and she stated that she is now pain free without having to remove or replace any discs. Hope this helps!
