I just had an awful experience. I am very regular as to my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant (after two miscarriages) and last week, I was two days late for my period. I wound up getting a positive result with an over the counter test. Due to my previous miscarriages, my doctor prescribed progesterone supplements to be taken every night. I was on the fifth dosage of progesterone when I was told by my doctor that a blood test he did two days earlier to measure the HCG level revealed that I was not pregnant. The late period was simply late and not a pregnancy symptom. Combine this with a false positive test. I have never had this happen before. I reread the instructions for the test and I am absolutely certain that I followed them to the tee. How absoutely disappointed my husband and I are. Anyone ever get a false positive?
