At the age of 24, during a semi annual check-up an ovarian cyst showed on my ultra sound. My gynecologist told me that ovarian cyst were fairly common with women (my age). Without recommmending syrgery, he informed me that I could have the cyst syrgically removed. Because the cyst seemed to not be bothering me, I opted to not have syrgery. At he age of 37, I started expericing abdominal pain along with very heavy periods. I was diagnosed with having several fibroid tumors (not a cyst). This time, syrgery was the only option.
