A tongue scraper is an excellent remedy if the halitisis is caused by bacteria on the back (toward the throat) area of the tongue. Ask your pharmasist. Tongue scrapers are also available on the net. Until then, use a very soft toothbrush to GENTLY scrub the tongue when you finish brushing. Go as far back on your tongue as you can comfortably without choking ,using a side to side stroke. I also recommend using Peroxyl mouth rinse once a day. Gargle with your chin up and head back, being careful not to swallow Peroxyl. A side benefit to using peroxyl is that it also bleaches your teeth. There are other causes that produce halitosis, sytemic, diet, post nasal drip, etc. So if the above does not work consult your physician or and Otolaryngologist. Good Luck! Judy Wagner, RDH
