Hi there! It may sound frightning to you, and your concerns are valid. However, the odds are as you have read in the previous posts. My 14 year old, born when I was only 18 years old, has translocation Trisomny 21. I would love to hear from the other poster about your little or big Angle. I do have a "Satilite" on my twenty-first set, it hangs from the two normal chromosomes. Anyway, if you are concerned, you can have an amnio done as I did with my other two children. They are normal, although my daughter has ADD, my son who is only 8, is normal. I have Generalized dystonia, no cure, unknown cause . . . my Clinton is the love of my life, he too has taught me about unconditional love, perserverence (sp? sorry :-)) and, since he could speak, he says, "I want to fly." In my opionion, he is truly 10 times closer to God than any other person I know. It's not Mom anymore who teaches him things, he is now helping me learn and accomplish things. Spreading butter, boy that's a task, one he does well . . . one I don't do so well. I get frustrated, he says, "It's ok Mom, take a deep bref, fink, fink, and fink, (his speech) and den, try again. If I can't succeed, he jumps right in there to help me. Or says, "Oh, just leave it Mom, I love you anyway!" LOLOLOL What a kid! He says he has no speech problem, it's me that speaks funny. Anyway, he is a joy in my life each day . . . I struggle more than he does with the dystonia, and he saw the butter that is in the squeeze bottle at the store with my husband one month ago. He said to my husband, "Jeff here is what Mama needs!" My husband smiled, and said your right . . . now, we can both spread butter on our toast! Just a little on my son and me, and feel free to email me if you have any questions! :-)
