Have these as well and all that is recommended is that it stems from activity going on in the brain. Usually, there is no damage to the eye, the migraine manifests itself through the eye. Doctors have tried to put me on medications, I won't go that route. Recently, I came across a little article in the LA Times regarding research into what is called "Aura Migraines". Aura' Migraines are hereditary, Scientists say. UCLA geneticists have found that migraines with auras are a hereditary condition. "For the first time, we have proof of an isolated genetic link to migraine," said Dr. Aarno Palotie. "This finding moves us one step closer to isolating the gene that predisposes people to migraine headaches with auras." Migraines affect about 12% of the U.S. population. Some are preceded by an aura - neurological symptoms characterized by visual disturbances up to an hour before the headache begins. Palotie's team analyzed genetic markers in blood samples from 50 Finnish families with a history of migraines and discovered three common markers linked to Chromosome 4."" I have sent email to Dr. Palotie, describing my history and asking for any advise/information he can offer. If his suggestion is to have genetic testing done, then I will. If you know what the problem is and how to treat it/represents no danger, then ones emotional framework is better and more stable. take care and remember your not alone. You just have to keep asking questions and doing research, at times, to arrive at a solution. We all think that our doctors have the answers. Many times we have to listen to that little voice inside of us that says, "keep looking, this doesn't sound/feel right". joani
