Like you, I also have herniated cervical disks. As for your question about w/c its hard to prove the disk herniated on the job unless you documented the sudden pain and someone witnessed your accident. The process can be occuring for some time and then the disk may herniate after moving the wrong way, picking something up thats heavy, or exercising or just years or wear and tear depending what you do for a job.
