sounds like what is going on with me. i am 56, will be 57 in december. i had my left hip replaced last year after a bad fall. i've had the x-rays, mri and a steriod injection that did nothing for the pain. doctors seem to think pain builds character. i think it wears away what little character i have. i have been walking more, trying to eat better and gave up alcohol. i didn't drink much before, but now i don't drink at all. there are times when the pain is not as intense, so maybe it is getting better or maybe i am ignoring it better. i do take more aspirin than i did before. the only thing that works for me is aspirin, as like your dr, mine won't give me a prescription for pain. hang in there and know you have company. terry
