I'm a tall, but not too thin athletic 41 year old male. It appears I may have had my first one 2 1/2 years ago, but it went un-detected. I just had my second one 3 weeks ago on a light jog. What I find strange is that it did not happen when I was skiing hard at 12,000 feet 4 years ago in Colorado. My lung re-inflated with a tube. Could someone discribe the surgury for removing blehs. I had the chest tube inserted without pain killers, because I am allergic to them. How painful is the surgury? How far do they have to spead your ribs apart? Also, my doctor wants me to give up flag football (and so does my wife) but from what I have been reading scuba and skydiving are the only things to avoid.
