Kevin
I'm 28 and am missing my right pectoralis major. No other physical symptoms. I completely understand the psychological struggles. I've had them my entire life. I have a very supportive family and that helped me get through the tough times. I've never had a woman reject me because of this and have dated many many women. I'm now married and my wife says that it has never bothered her. I would like to have information on corrective surgery, but don't know much about it. If you have information for me, or would just like moral support, contact me. I've been there and know how you or your child feels. It really does wonders just knowing someone else understands. I remember what helped me a long time ago was Sports Illustrated magazine article about a college football quarterback named Shaun Graves who is missing his pec. also. That was the first time that I realized I wasn't alone. I also saw that it didn't hold Shaun back (all-american and set many Div. II records), and it didn't have to hold me back either. Great article. It was in the summer of 1992, college football preseason issue, if you're interested. That's when I really started to grow within myself and gained the confidence to reach my potential and realize that I could beat this. By the way, I can't find the Polands Syndrome Support group on MSN. Please advise. Thank you.
