Actually, yes, I have heard of collapsed lungs happening to seemingly healthy people. My mother had her first collapsed lung when she was in her early twenties, and had many more following that. This tends to be a common occurrence in my family: I have 11 members of my extended family who have had at least one collapsed lung. Unfortunately, no one has been able to explain to me why, and if this is a genetic phenomenon or not.
