Hi, I can tell you from personal experience right now, it is the most painful thing I've ever endured. I had my tonsilectomy performed March 1, 2005. It is now Sunday March 6 and I'm still hurting just as much. I have sleep apnea as well and therefore the doctor won't give me any medicine good enough to knock out the pain, he's pretty much told me I'll have to suffer with it because he's afraid to give me anything too strong. My tonsils were the size of golf balls which didn't help either. I'm not telling you not to do it, but keep in mind that I've had kidney stones numerous times and this ranks right up there with those.
