HORROR STORY. For those of you who may change your mind after reading horror stories, stop now!!! OMG!!! I'm glad I didn't look at these messages before I had my surgery. I just discovered this site today, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this bad. It's been a week since I had my tonsilectomy, and it is horrible! The first couple of days wasn't as bad, I guess because I thought I would just keep getting better. I must have overdid it, because the last few days have been HELL. I am 28, have two children and LIKED the pain of childbirth compared to this. I was given Lorcet Plus in tablets, and was ordered to crush them. The doctor said that the liquid would burn. I've had a problem with the medication the last few days as well. And now I can't hardly take my pain pills. Everytime I take one, I get nauseated and dizzy, like I'm going to throw up. I can't take one on an empty stomach, but then again, I can't bear to eat unless a pain pill has kicked in. (Guess I need another prescription.) One piece of advice for those with small children: leave them at grandma's until you know you're feeling better. And if you feel like you're better, you still need to take it easy. I don't really have to have anyone here to take care of me, that's the less I have to talk. I do have some hope, though. Others say that after about 10 days, it starts to get better. I'm praying it does. I hope it is for the better in the long run.
