It looks as though I'm up for this op in about a month. Had tonsilitis a lot as a kid then everything was fine... till I get a simple throat infection at age 39 and one tonsil has grown massive. Nothing will shrink it so out they come... after reading all this I'm really not looking forward to it... gulp! I can't even console myself that I won't have recurring sore throats anymore - I didn't have them before! However we all need something to look forward to so I've settled for seeing it as a perfect opportunity to lose those few extra pounds I've put on recently and finally I might get to succeed in my attemps to give up smoking!
